Dihexa

Also known as N-hexanoic-Tyr-Ile-(6)-aminohexanoic amide.

No human trial has been registered or published. Every result comes from rodent studies, on a pathway also linked to tumor growth.

Short answer

As of September 2026, no human trial of Dihexa has been registered or published, and the FDA and the EMA have not approved it. All the evidence comes from rodent studies. The pathway it acts on is also linked to tumor growth, and that concern has not been studied. So nobody knows what it does in people, and you cannot learn from the label what a given vial holds.

What is Dihexa?

Dihexa is a small modified molecule built from angiotensin IV, a fragment of the hormone angiotensin II. Joseph Harding's lab at Washington State University engineered it in the early 2010s to last longer in the body and to cross into the brain. Rodent results on learning and memory then drew interest from longevity and cognitive-enhancement communities.

Does Dihexa work?

Nobody knows. No human trial results have been published for Dihexa, so there is no human data on whether it does anything.

What we found. 0 completed randomized trials. No human study of any kind, registered or published. 2 published animal studies, in rats and in mice.

How we count a trial

Is Dihexa safe?

Nobody knows. No human data of any kind have been published for Dihexa, and that includes safety data. The pathway it activates is also implicated in tumor growth, and the record says that concern has not been studied. The rodent studies on the record report on learning and memory, with no safety result. Those are the gaps for the molecule. A vial adds gaps of its own, covered below.

What is in a vial sold as Dihexa?

The record calls Dihexa a laboratory research tool. It says rodent results drew interest from longevity and cognitive-enhancement communities, and it does not say how vials reach people. A "research use only" label guarantees nothing about purity. A certificate of analysis counts only if it names your lot number, a lab with no stake in the result, and the method used. Purity and identity are separate tests.

Three questions to ask the seller:

  1. Which lot number is this certificate for?
  2. Who ran the test, and are they independent of you?
  3. Does the report confirm identity by mass spectrometry, or purity alone?

What don't we know?

  • Whether it does anything in people. No human trial has been registered or published.
  • Whether it feeds tumor growth. Its pathway is implicated in that, and nobody has studied it.
  • What the body does with it. No human data on that have been published.
  • What is in any given vial.

The other side

A personal result is real to the person who had it. It cannot separate the compound from the vial, or from what the person hoped to feel.

What would change this record?

  • A registered Phase 1 trial of safety in people, and of how the body handles the compound. The record calls that the single biggest change.

More questions about Dihexa

Has Dihexa been tested in people?

No. No human trial of Dihexa has been registered or published as of 2026, and the record holds no human data of any kind.

Does Dihexa cause cancer?

Nobody knows. The pathway it activates is also implicated in tumor growth, and the record says that concern has not been studied.

Is Dihexa approved by the FDA?

No. The FDA has not approved it, and it has no EMA marketing authorisation.

Are any human trials of Dihexa running now?

None that this record shows. It lists no registered human trial, and no clinical trial registered in the EU.

Is Dihexa banned in sport?

It is not named on WADA's list. That is not clearance.
